Bookings
Walkmill Campsite will transfer a booking for up to 12 months if given 7 days’ notice prior to the date of arrival. In case of a cancellation, please contact the site directly to reschedule your visit. All efforts will be made to reschedule depending on availability.
During the booking process a 50% non-refundable deposit is required with the balance payable 30 days prior to your stay. Bookings made with less than 30 days’ notice will be required to pay in full. Bookings of 3 nights or less should be paid for in full at the time of booking. Walkmill does not offer refunds but can offer rescheduled dates.
Walkmill Campsite is not liable for refunds or expenses you incur in the event we are prevented from fulfilling your Booking as a result of circumstances beyond our control. Such circumstances shall include, but will not be limited to war, terrorism, serious crime, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics or such similar events ("Force Majeure"). We recommend that you have adequate holiday insurance in place to cover this possible circumstance.
Group Bookings of 4 or more units that exceed 12 individuals; Example, tents, touring caravans, campervans, or motorhomes travelling together are not permitted.
The maximum number of people per pitch is 5 and numbers over this cannot share or be grouped (bunched / clustered) together on the same pitch even if a separate pitch is booked. However, it may be possible to book direct by telephone for an extended family arrangement for a single pitch depending on exact request. Such a request cannot be booked on-line.
A ‘Caravan Rally’ may be booked depending on circumstances such as numbers of units and time of year. This opportunity cannot be booked on-line. Interested caravan clubs are required to call Walkmill Campsite direct to discuss requirements.
Group Bookings of 6 or more people are not permitted (couples and immediate family members are excepted / permitted).
Single-sex Bookings of 4 or more people are not permitted (couples and immediate family members are excepted / permitted).
Bookings for any pitch made for individuals all under 18 years of age are not permitted.
Arrival & Departure
Arrival is from 1.00pm and your pitch must be vacated by 12noon on the date of departure. All arrivals are required to check in with Walkmill Campsite reception prior to pitching. At busy times of the season your pitch will have been allocated to you and will not be transferable. It is expected that pitches are left in the clean and tidy state that they are found.
Reception is available between the hours of 8.00am and 8.00pm Monday to Sunday across the months of March to end September.
Riverside Access
There is strictly no access to the River Coquet from Walkmill Campsite. Likewise, there is no access to Walkmill Campsite from the River Coquet. The River Bank at Walkmill is a Natural England SSSI with fishing rights. The Walkmill Campsite boundary is marked by a top-wire fence line.
General
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Walkmill Campsite and must always be kept on a tether or dog-lead.
No loud music is permitted at any time and no music after 9.00pm. Walkmill Campsite is a quiet site and, as we are so quiet, noise does carry across the meadow. Please respect your neighbours around the acreage.
It is not permitted to sleep anywhere other than on the pitch that is booked and your car must also be parked on your defined pitch.
Raised Firepits and BBQ’s are permitted at Walkmill Campsite. Firepits and Cooking Tripods can be hired from reception. Wood or HotMax (Eco wood-logs) can also be purchased on site. No fallen wood is to be collected from within the site nor from the river bank as access is not permitted, nor may any of the tree branches be broken or cut for any use whatsoever.
Children must be always supervised within the onsite facilities.
